Worship Leaders
At St George’s, every Year 2 child has the opportunity to become a Worship Leader. Worship Leaders serve for a half term and play an important role in welcoming our school community into collective worship and helping everyone feel ready to listen, reflect and participate.
Worship Leaders welcome children at the beginning of worship and, at the end, lead the school in our prayer. When we hold worship in other venues, such as St George’s Church or King’s Church, our Worship Leaders continue to serve in a similar way. Wearing their Worship Leader badges with pride, they act as positive role models for others, demonstrating confidence, respect, responsibility and our Christian values.
Through this opportunity, children develop their confidence and leadership skills while learning that leadership is also about serving others. Our Worship Leaders help us to live out our vision to ‘Let your light shine’, showing that every child has something valuable to contribute to our school family.
