Family Liaison
Background to the Family Liaison Role
We established the Family Liaison role in response to growing recognition that families and carers often need clear guidance, consistent communication, and practical support when navigating services.
The Family Liaison role ensures there is a dedicated, approachable point of contact who can:
-
Provide accurate and up-to-date information
-
Offer emotional and practical support
-
Help families understand available services
-
Strengthen communication between families and the organisation
-
Advocate for family needs where appropriate
The aim is to build trust, reduce confusion, and ensure families feel informed, supported, and listened to.
Why We Hold Monthly Information Events
Our monthly information events were introduced to:
-
Share key updates in a consistent and transparent way
-
Provide information about services, policies, and opportunities
-
Invite guest speakers on relevant topics
-
Create space for questions and open discussion
-
Encourage peer support and connection between families
These sessions help ensure families receive the same clear information at the same time, while also building a sense of community and shared understanding.
One-to-One Appointments
While group sessions are valuable, we recognise that some families need more personalised support. One-to-one appointments offer:
-
Confidential discussions
-
Tailored advice based on individual circumstances
-
Support with specific concerns or challenges
These appointments ensure that families receive individualised support that reflects their unique needs.
